Our island facing challenges with plastic waste as well as other types of waste that could be upcycled and thus diverted from either a landfill or a hardfill. These materials include plastic bottles, glass bottles, PVC, pallets, corks, tiles, six-pack rings, etc. i*recycle will conduct a presentation on recycling at home in an effort to reduce landfill waster and make better use of our resources. Displays of upcycled items will also be available.
University of Guam Agriculture Workshop
Plants are an important and essential resource for the well-being of mankind. Everything we eat comes directly or indirectly from plants. Plants also ring oxygen and help regulate the water cycle on earth. In addition, other species and animals depend on plants for food and shelter. The University of Guam's Agriculture department will conduct a hands on workshop on basic planting techniques and how to grow your own local produce at home.
