Since 1950, Pay-Less Markets Inc. has grown from a single grocery store to a locally owned supermarket chain with 8 convenient store locations throughout our island. Every day, we strive to live up to our mission. Our employees and customers have become our family and friends, and we are proud and honored to be your grocery of choice.

Ben Reyes - 34 years - Meat Category manager

I love Pay-Less! I started as a bagger straight out of high school from 1982 through 1985 at the Harmon location. This was before it was purchased by Calvo's. The Pay-Less Markets on Guam was purchased shortly thereafter by the Calvo's in 1985. I was promoted to a stocker and briefly cross trained in the meat and produce department. I left Guam for a couple of years and returned in 1987 where I was rehired as a bagger. Within the same year, I was given the opportunity to be promoted to a stocker and shortly thereafter promoted to an assistant store manager. The following year, I was asked to go into the meat department as a supervisor. I had no prior experience but learned everything about the position/department on the job. It was quite the experience to compete for meat sales with a well known grocery chain on island! After a year, I was promoted to store manager for the Sinajana location, and went on to be manager at the Oka and Dededo locations, and finally was selected to the the meat category manager in 2000. Darren Ascura - 6 Years - Shift Supervisor

In June 2012, I was hired at Pay-Less Supermarkets as a bagger. This served as my first job right out of high school and little did I know being a bagger will set a strong base for my future. During the course of my first year, I was surprisingly given the opportunity to cross train in multiple departments. In October of 2013, another opportunity was directed my way to train as a freeze and chill supervisor. I was given this chance just by simply showing interest and working hard. In 2014, I was selected to train as a shift supervisor. I humbly accepted! In October 2015, I was given the title of shift supervisor. I have learned so much by participating in the many training and certification classes offered. It has made me a better person and a better representation of Pay-Less Markets for our many customers. Bernie Onedera - 37 years - Operations Manager

I have been employed with Pay-Less Markets for 37 years! I started as a cashier and was in this position for 6 years. Soon after, I was promoted to assistant store manager. I was also in this position for 6 years. My hard work paid off and I was promoted to store manager in 1993. I was able manage the old Northgate location in Tamuning, Agana, Dededo and the store located in the Micronesia Mall. In October 2016, I was promoted to operations manager. I will be two years in this position this coming June 2018. It's been a great journey working with the employees and climbing the PayLess Markets ladder! I have seen Pay-Less Markets grow from a few stores to 8 full service grocery markets and from a staff of a few hundred to almost eight hundred employees. It is truly a great place to work! Pepita Contreras-Toves - 17 years - Store Manager

On October 1, 2001 I had started with Pay-Less Markets Micronesian Mall as a cashier. 3 months later I was offered the head cashier position which I gladly accepted blossomed into management responsibilities with my eagerness and initiative.

Moved onto a shift supervisor 6 months later and off to Northgate Payless from there I transferred to agana payless as a shift supervisor from there I was promoted to assistant manager.

Last but not least 2010 I was promoted to store manager and was given Sanjana Pay-Less as my first store and was given the opportunity to set up a brand new store which was Mangilao Pay-Less.

Everlyn U. McMurray - 13 years - Shift Supervisor

Hello my name is Everlyn I enjoy working at Pay-Less Supermarkets for the great opportunities for professional growth. From my humble beginnings in 2005 as cashier trainee to cashier at Northgate, transferred to Dededo, as Head Cashier trainee with training in simple floral arrangements, promoted to Micronesia Mall as a head cashier and currently a shift supervisor in-charge of training new cashiers.
