Job Purpose:

The Grocery Department Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the grocery department, effectively supervise staff and be able to work a flexible work schedule.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Has knowledge of products, advertising, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Communicates merchandise orders through established and new suppliers, maintaining Pay-Less’ standards of quality at minimal cost.
• Receives and verifies merchandise from suppliers.
• Directs staff to maintain and clean storage/displays.
• Controls damage and spoilage through knowledge of and preparation.
• Conducts physical inventories - preparing designated reports for management.
• Maintains labor expense budget.
• Maintains gross profit budget.
• Schedule and manage employee’s work week.
• Maintains sanitation standards throughout department.
• Examines equipment regularly for proper working order.
• Effectively train incoming staff.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• 2-5 years experience.
